Short about the company
Marklund Games is a small independent game development studio located in Nyköping, Sweden. The studio was started “for reals” in September 2010, by Jocce Marklund, a graduated game designer and “rogue programmer”. Jocce took part in Dare to be Digital 2010 where his team won the competition with the game Twang! . The team also won the ProtoPlay People’s Choice Award and did actually win the Bafta: One’s to watch 2011 award (<– Awesome).
At the moment, Marklund Games is working on titles for Xbox Live Indie Games.
That Game Studio vs. Marklund Games
Here’s a short explanation of the name confusions: That Game Studio was a name that Jocce Marklund and two others used when making the first Solve It version. The same name was used during the Dare to be Digital 2010 competition, that won the Bafta and all. Later, parts of the That Game Studio team founded a company, but soon split into two new ones. One of them were named Marklund Games and is now a solo company run by Jocce Marklund. However, Marklund Games has been working with other teams and individuals to create games.
So, Marklund Games – one guy, working together with other developers. That Game Studio – made Twang! during the Dare competition.
